By March 23, 2016AKL, Expansion

The Fraternity of Alpha Kappa Lambda is excited to announce it will be establishing a new colony at Indiana University this fall.

On March 22, National Headquarters staff members, Jeffrey Szumanski, Jeremy Roberson, and Brittany Booth petitioned to the Interfraternity Council and its members to become the newest recognized colony on campus. After deliberation and a vote of its members, the IFC decided that Alpha Kappa Lambda is to become the 33rd member of the IFC at IU beginning Fall 2016.

Ryan Zukerman, President of the Indiana University IFC stated, “The Indiana University Interfraternity Council is excited about the addition of Alpha Kappa Lambda to the Indiana University Greek Community this Fall. We anticipate that AKL will be an exemplary organization and will help us in our mission to foster a greater level of communication, cooperation, and achievement for the Greek Community within the larger Indiana University Community.”

Expansion preparations have already begun; AKL will begin notifying alumni members of our plans for Indiana University by mail in the coming weeks. An Alumni Advisory Board will be established in order to provide the IU Colony support throughout the initial semester and the entire process. Current chapters and colonies that can assist the IU Colony will also be contacted for recommendations and friends that attend the university.

If you, or a student you know, currently attends Indiana University and would like to be considered for membership in the colony please fill out this form, I’m Interested in Joining.
