Clark-Thompson Presidents' Academy

  • Since the early 90's the AKL Education Foundation has sponsored an annual Presidents' Academy to train incoming chapterpresidents in all areas of managing a chapter. The event generally takes place in early January and most years has been held in Indianapolis.

The training provided at Presidents' Academy includes but is not limited to Running a Chapter Meeting, Understanding Finances, Managing Conflict, Reporting, and setting Plans of Actions/Goals.

Over 500 men have graduated from this program through the years.  A number of these men have gone to work for the Fraternity, succeeded in business or have given back to the Fraternity and Foundation through volunteer time and money.

In 2007 the Mu Chapter (Ohio State) alumni corporation decided to graciously support the Foundation and this program specifically through an endowment in honor of two of their alumni, Dean Clark and Harry Thompson.  The endowment currently provides enough support to run the program however as the Fraternity grows so will the needs and costs of the program.
