Alpha Kappa Lambda is pleased to continually offer Recruitment Boot Camp to all its chapters and colonies. Details about RBC, monthly Recruitment Webinar series, and additional  recruitment resources can be found on this page.

Recruitment Boot Camp is an intensive three-day training institute in which chapter Recruitment Chairs work together in large and small group settings to improve their chapter’s recruitment policies and procedures. Alpha Kappa Lambda has set Fraternity records in recruitment the past two years, and hopes to improve all chapters’ recruitment quality and quantity through training and educating them yearly with Recruitment Boot Camp. During the Camp, attendees participated in large-group seminars where they learn about how values alignment, branding, and social media use can improve their chapter’s recruitment quality and quantity. During their small group breakaway sessions, volunteer facilitators lead discussions about how to implement changes and improvements to their recruitment process. The final step of the camp is each chapter developing an action plan of five goals to be completed by specified dates in order to improve their recruitment.

The first day of Recruitment Boot Camp consists primarily of introductory presentations by the lead facilitator. These presentations allow attendees to begin recognizing what their chapter does best with recruitment, and where improvement is needed. Attendees are then divided into their breakaway groups based on chapter and university size to meet their small-group facilitators and discuss the day’s information with their Brothers.

The second full day of Recruitment Boot Camp sees attendees more involved in the large group sessions as they prepare to brainstorm ideas for improvements to their chapter’s recruitment to discuss in their small groups. Near the end of the second day, chapters begin working on their action plans developing rough drafts of five SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Righteous, and Time-Oriented) goals to present to their small group facilitators. Once the drafts are approved by both the small group and lead facilitator, the chapters have the rest of the evening to type up their action plans.

The third, and final day, of Recruitment Boot Camp allows the attendees to debrief and present to each other major goals they will complete to improve their chapters’ recruitment as well as receive words of encouragement and advice from their facilitators.
