National Membership Entry Fee

This is a one-time National Membership Entry Fee to join the Fraternity of Alpha Kappa Lambda. The National Membership Entry Fee must be paid along with the National Dues within 30 days of joining. Adjustments cannot be made after 30 days and the individual member is responsible for making sure it gets paid. Delays in payment will result in late fees.

National Membership Dues

The National Membership Dues are to be collected from every man on the roster EACH semester. The National Membership Dues must be paid along with National Insurance within 15 days the start of the semester. The National Membership Dues cover the general operations of The Fraternity.

National Insurance

The National Insurance is to be collected from every man on the roster EACH semester. The National Insurance must be paid along with National Membership Fee within 15 days the start of the semester. This insurance provides protection for AKL members in case of litigation, resulting from injury or damage caused by the colony, by accident, or unknowingly.

Meetings Fee

The Meetings Fee is billed every Spring Semester and must be paid with the National Membership Dues & National Insurance. This is based on the membership count at the time of Spring billing. This fee is used in reducing costs to our members of attending National Conclave and Leadership Conferences provided to all members.

Local Dues & Fees

The colony can set costs above what is required by the National Headquarters to pay for local events and activities. This can range from $50 to $500 on top of what billed from the National Fraternity. This should be billed via OmegaFi and no money should be taken via cash in order to avoid any potential issues regarding mismanagement. 

Billing Adjustments & Removal from Colony Roster

No adjustments will be made 15 days after billing. If the colony roster was incorrectly updated, the colony will be responsible for the difference. If a member does not inform the colony, the individual will be responsible for the difference.

There are three ways a member can be removed from the colony roster.

  1. He decides to “Depledged” or quit/leave the organization before initiation. After 15 days he is still responsible for all billed costs.
  2. He graduates or permanently leaves the institution. Statuses are available for Abroad and Student Teaching where they will no be included in billing. The National Headquarters must be informed prior to billing. He is still responsible for all billed costs prior to graduation or leaving the institution..
  3. He is “Expelled” either by the colony or of his own desire. This means he wishes to quit/leave the organization after initiation. He will lose all rights and privileges afforded to members and will no longer be recognized as Alpha Kappa Lambda. He is still responsible for all billed costs prior to being Expelled.
