Standards for Policy Enforcement with Members

It is understood that rules and policies in which members must follow are identified in many different documents and via numerous entities.  The Standards for Policy Enforcement with Members is meant to address most but not all potential violations and minimum actions expected by a chapter.  A chapter’s judicial board will follow these expectations in their work.

  • Alcohol: Any violation of the alcohol policy will have a consequence determined by the severity of the violation. Second offenses will at a minimum result in an automatic suspension. Third offenses will result in expulsion.
  • Financial: Members past due automatically lose voice and vote at chapter. Members thirty (30) days past due are automatically suspended until the debt is paid. Members 30 days past due on rent to the house automatically receive an eviction notice unless a payment plan is established and followed. A member 90 days past due will be expelled unless a payment plan is established and followed.
  • Hazing: Any violation of the hazing policy will have a consequence determined by the severity of the violation. Second offenses will result in expulsion.
  • Sexual Abuse: Any violation of the sexual abuse policy will have a consequence determined by the severity of the violation. When an assault is alleged, the member will be suspended from the chapter until the allegations have been resolved. A member found guilty of assault by the legal system will be expelled from the Fraternity.
  • Assault: Any violation will result in an immediate suspension of a member. Second offenses will result in expulsion.
  • Academics: A member failing to meet Fraternity standards for two (2) consecutive semesters will be suspended. A collegiate member failing to meet Fraternity standards for three (3) consecutive semesters will be expelled.
